Hasselblad X1D Hands-On

As the Hasselblad X1D World Tour made its southernmost stop in the USA (Boca Raton, FL), I drove up the 50+ miles from Miami to finally get to see the Wunderkind from Sweden first hand. It did not disappoint, so far.
First off, a big thanks to Peter Lorber for hosting the event at his store Custom Photo Images and Hasselblad, of course, for having the tour in the first place.

Hasselblad X1D Coverage from B&H

B&H’s presentation of the Hasselblad X1D. Mostly a rehash of the specs as there are no cameras “in the wild” yet.

Laura Bailey tests the X1D

Hasselblad has posted a new test of the X1D, this time by Laura Bailey (model, writer, and contributing editor to British Vogue).

Fuji may soon launch their own MFM camera

Fujirumors reports that Fujifilm will likely enter the Medium Format Mirrorless fray at Photokina with a less expensive option to the recently announced Hasselblad X1D.

Recently, Fuji Manager Takeshi Ueno said here, that Fuji is investigating the Medium Format camera, but there are no concrete plans for now to make it, since “not everyone in the company is quite as convinced to make it.”

I’ve contacted our Top Trusted Japanese Source, and asked for clarification… and its answer is clear:

The Source said that the Digital Medium Format Fujifilm (with interchangeable lenses) already got Green Light from the Management.

Yep, the Medium Format Fuji will come!

Welcome to the Medium Format Mirrorless Society

I was inspired to create this site by the announcement of the Hasselblad X1D, the world’s first medium format mirrorless camera. Others have seen the writing on the wall and I fully expect other camera makers to follow suit. Please follow my rantings as I am sure it will be an entertaining ride.
